Mediacorp has announced the winners of its annual “Atlantic Canada’s Top Employers” competition.
Now in its 11th year, the competition awards employers with progressive workplace policies. Criteria include the physical workplace, social environment, benefits, paid time off, communications, management, training and community involvement. Some of the innovative practices noted include rewards for new business development ideas, no-limit tuition subsidies and generous parental leave for new mothers and fathers.
As unemployment has declined in the Atlantic region last year, business managers have sought to improve workplace benefits. Immigration has also played a role in improving the business climate with the Atlantic Immigration Pilot and Provincial Nominee Programs attracting skilled newcomers.
In a statement, Mediacorp’s Richard Yerema, managing editor of Canada's Top 100 Employers project said Mediacorp expanded the list of winners for 2020 to reflect accurately the number of outstanding employers.
