Canada Commits to Economic Recovery Through Immigration

IRCC has highlighted the importance of immigration to both Canada’s economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and to creating inclusive communities.

IRCC explores these issues in detail in its “Fall Economic Statement 2020”.

IRCC recognizes the pandemic has disproportionately affected women, young people, lower-wage workers, and new Canadians.  In addition, specific industries and business investment have also been challenged by new regulations and shifting demand.

The Canadian government’s plan calls for continued fiscal support to stimulate the economy and assurances that the recovery will be inclusive, including plans for a national early learning and child care system.
