Common Ways to Report Fraud and Abuse

As Fraud Prevention Month draws to a close, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is reminding the public of the ways fraud can be reported.

Immigration and citizenship fraud encompasses many fraudulent behaviours including providing false information on applications. You can report immigration and citizenship fraud by calling or emailing IRCC or by calling the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) toll free line.

You can report internet, email, and phone scams to the Royal Canadian Mountain Police (RCMP) if you are in Canada our to local authorities if you are outside of Canada.

IRCC reminds the public that you can leave abusive relationships and workplaces and keep your status in Canada. The public is reminded to contact the authorities in an emergency and to contact IRCC’s Client Support Centre for more information.
