This May, all Canadian households will complete the 2021 Census. Canada conducts a census every five years.
The purpose of the census is to collect information about the country’s population, which provides socioeconomic information used in planning future services and benefits.
Statistics Canada has created census fact sheets in the following languages to assist residents during this process:
• Arabic
• Chinese (simplified)
• Chinese (traditional)
• Italian
• Korean
• Persian
• Portuguese
• Punjabi
• Russian
• Spanish
• Urdu
• Vietnamese
All residents, including citizens, immigrants, refugee claimants, and work and study permit holders, must complete the census. Residents can complete the census online or by phone; paper forms are also available.
