Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has issued an update for “owner/operator” applications made under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP).

Beginning on April 1, 2021, the program will not evaluate “owner/operator” applications by using policy variations. All owner/operator applications will be assessed using standard program criteria.

ESDC reminds candidates that the TFWP is only to be used to fill positions when qualified permanent residents and Canadian citizens are not available.
