East Asian Students Can Now Apply for IELTS Prizes

Future postsecondary students from Hong Kong/Macau, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam can apply for prizes totalling KRW 103 million.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is the world's most popular English language proficiency test for international migration and higher education and is provided by the British Council. The test is required by many Canadian postsecondary institutions for admission purposes.

To qualify, students must be permanent residents of one of the above countries and intend to pursue a postgraduate or undergraduate degree either locally or overseas in 2019 at a postsecondary institution that accepts IELTS as an admission requirement.

Applicants must also have a minimum band score of 6 in each of the four IELTS test sections taken with the British Council in one of these countries from April 1, 2018, onward.

The deadline to apply is April 30, 2019
