Express Entry Draw Feb. 19

An Express Entry draw on February 19 issued 4,500 invitations.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score this round was 470, two points lower than the previous round on February 5. There were also 1,000 more invitations issued and candidates in the Federal Skilled Trades program were eligible. The tie-breaking rule chose candidates who submitted profiles before January 13, 2020.

For reference, Canada’s Express Entry program offers foreign nationals a chance to fast-track their permanent residency status. Candidates are given a CRS score based on factors that would help them succeed economically in Canada. These include education, work experience and language skills. Those with the highest scores are offered invitations, after which they can apply.

The Express Entry pool has been growing steadily. As of February 14, 2020, there were 144,042 candidates in the system—an increase of 1,551 since January 31.
