Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has announced a new bilateral youth mobility agreement with Italy.

The agreement is part of the International Experience Canada (IEC) Program. Since 2008, more than 200,000 Canadian youth have participated in the program.

The new deal will ensure Canadian and Italian youth between 18 and 35 will be able to work and travel in both countries for 12 months. Youths from both countries can participate more than once, totaling 24 months. The agreement also creates two new streams: Internation Co-op and Young Professionals.

Candidates are advised that temporary travel restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic still apply. Currently, only youth with valid jobs offers can travel to Canada as part of IEC.
