IRCC Introduces New PR Pathway for Families of Canadian Victims of Recent Air Disasters

(IRCC) has introduced a new public policy for families of the victims of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 and Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752 air disasters.

The policy is available until May 11, 2022 and applies to in-Canada families of victims who were Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or foreign nationals who were found eligible on permanent residence applications. While regular eligibility requirements apply, applicants who have lost their status in Canada may still be eligible.

This new policy applies only to family members in Canada; additional measures for family members outside Canada are in the planning stage. In addition, IRCC has extended the temporary residence public policy for families of victims of Flight PS752.
