Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is marking the fifth anniversary of Operation Syrian Refugees. On December 10, 2015 the first flights carrying Syrian refugees landed in Canada.

A coordinated effort between various levels of government, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), international partners, and private sponsors worked to ensure more than 25,000 Syrian refugees were welcomed in just 100 days.

In total, more than 44,000 Syrian refugees came to Canada as part of Operation Syrian Refugees.
