IRCC Updates Guidance for Student Workers, study permits; Removes 2 IEC recognized organizations

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has updated its guidance for students working on campus. The guidelines define student eligibility and on-campus work definitions.

IRCC has also provided an update for students studying at designated learning institutes (DLIs) that lose DLI-status. IRCC advises that students in this position can continue their program of study until their permit expires, at which time they can renew their permit only if they enroll at a DLI.

On November 15, IRCC announced the removal of the University of British Columbia and the University of New Brunswick from the list of recognized institutions under the International Experience Canada program (IEC)as part of a program delivery update.
