New Jobs in Canada Lead to Lowest Unemployment Rate Since 1976

The creation of 94,100 new jobs in November has kept the Canadian unemployment rate at its lowest ebb in more than 40 years, at 5.6%, according to a Statistics Canada report published on Friday.

Of these, 26,900 were created in the goods-producing sector and 14,800 in construction positions, while 26,000 professional, scientific, and technical service positions were added to the services sector, bringing its November total to 67,200.

Compared to 12 months ago, there has been a net increase of 218,800 jobs.
