Last fall, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), announced several measures to assist more Hong Kong residents immigrate to Canada, including new permanent residence (PR) streams.
The intake process for two additional streams opened on June 8. The two streams offer PR eligibility to Hong Kong residents in Canada who are recent graduates or workers provided they meet all eligibility factors including additional work and education criteria.
This is the latest update on measures for residents of Hong Kong who are currently in Canada. On May 17, 2021, eligibility for the new 3-year open work permit was expanded to include applicants who have completed a graduate or post-graduate diploma or certificate program within the last 5 years, provided they meet all eligibility criteria.
