Update on NEXUS and Other Travel-Related Programs

The Canadian government has provided updates on travel-related programs and services affected by COVID-19.

The Remote Area Border Crossing Program has been temporarily suspended along with some services at low-traffic border crossings.

Expiring and expired membership has been extended for the following programs: CANPASS, Pilot Project for Travellers in Remote Areas (Quebec), and the Commercial Driver Registration Program.

Canadian enrollment centres for NEXUS and FAST will be closed until October 5, 2020. NEXUS and FAST users are urged to log into their accounts to reschedule appointments. Submitting membership renewal applications before the listed expiry date will ensure membership for an additional 18 months. Temporary NEXUS lane closures at ports of entry are currently enforced. The Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) advices that temporary closures and suspensions may extend beyond listed dates.
