Saskatchewan Unemployment Rate Down to 5.1% in June

A recent labour force survey from Statistics Canada shows that Saskatchewan’s unemployment rate fell to 5.1% in June, 0.3% lower than the national average rate of 5.4%.

The province saw 2,500 new jobs in foodservices and accommodation between May and June, and there were 9,300 more jobs in total in June compared to June 2018.

These jobs were split between full-time and part-time, with approximately 5,000 new full-time opportunities and 4,300 part time jobs.
