New policy helps CUAET arrivals stay and support themselves in Canada
The Government of Canada has announced an extension of its temporary public policy supporting Ukrainian nationals who arrived under the Canada‑Ukraine Authorization for Emergency Travel (CUAET) rules.
The policy, in effect from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, removes certain in-Canada application requirements to help Ukrainians continue working or studying while holding valid temporary resident status. In light of public policy considerations, delegated officers may waive the applicable requirements of the Act and Regulations if certain conditions are met.
This move supports those impacted by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
