Canadian Government Helps Vancouver Newcomers Get Credentials Recognized

To help internationally-trained newcomers get the necessary Canadian credentials, the Canadian government is investing in three new projects.

Approximately $8.4 million in funding will be given to the projected over the next eight years, jointly through the Foreign Credential Recognition Program and the Canada Service Corps.

The Foreign Credential Recognition Program helps newcomers find work in their area of expertise by providing loans and support services to help with credential recognition, as well as employment services to help newcomers gain Canadian work experience relevant to their skill set.

The Canada Service Corps is a youth initiative that helps youth gain work skills and make a difference in their community.
