The Canada immigration consulting industry is governed at federal level. The current governing body CICC was transited from its predecessor ICCRC on Nov. 23, 2021 by legislation. CICC's mandate is to protect general public and the interest of applicants who hire consultation or representation services. CICC regulates all practitioners (e.g. RCICs, RISIAs). NLAi was RCIC licensed in June 2014.
Implemented on July 1, 2023, it is compulsory that only RCIC-IRB licensee can represent clients before Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB). NLAi is one of the first company be accredited this upgraded Class - L3 RCIC-IRB license on July 14, 2022. It allows NLAi the full scope of practice with additional qualifications to represent clients before the IRB. It is a solid recognition of NLAi's years of ethical professional services.
