National Francophone Immigration Week is an opportunity to bring together Francophones of all communities.

Canada is celebrating the 11th edition of National Francophone Immigration Week. It is taking place from November 5th to 11th, 2023.  Francophone Immigration Week is an opportunity for everyone in Canada to celebrate the cultural diversity that makes the country shine. This year’s theme is “A Welcoming Land”. The theme encourages us to value each other’s cultures and to reflect on what it means to be a welcoming land for everyone.

On this occasion, Immigration Minister Marc Miller released an official statement to highlight the importance of Francophone Immigration and to encourage every Canadian to use this week to reflect on the value of the French-speaking immigrants while doing their part to welcome them with warmth and compassion. He says, “The immigration department has engaged in consultations on the new Francophone immigration policy with the provinces and territories, as well as with representatives of Francophone communities. The policy will be launched soon and will clearly establish the approach that will be used to support the development of Francophone communities outside Quebec.”
