The Canadian government has provided a program delivery update for temporary residents, currently in Canada, who are unable to depart the country due to COVID-19.

The updated guidelines provide additional factors for officers to consider when processing applications. This includes flight availability and airspace restrictions.

Foreign nationals temporary whose residency status is expiring soon are reminded that they can apply for an extension. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) advised applicants to apply in advance and online.
