On October 15, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will begin an expression of interest process for service delivery improvements (SDI) funding.
As part of the process, IRCC is setting aside $30 million in SDI funding for newcomer settlement services. The funding will take into account COVID-19 and the reality that many newcomer supports have moved online during the pandemic.
SDI funding will prioritize the following:
• leveraging technology
• increasing employer involvement
• building the capacity sector
Through this process, IRCC aims to better understand newcomer needs and improve the Settlement Program, especially in light of the pandemic.
