IRCC Reminds Applicants to Gather Supporting Documentation

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the resumption of in-progress application processing.

IRCC will no longer be automatically extending deadlines for applicants to gather and send supporting documents because the majority of IRCC offices, visa application centres (VACs) and application support centers (ASCs) have reopened.

IRCC reminds applicants not to travel to obtain supporting documents in different cities or countries. IRCC will still extend deadlines for the submission of supporting documents if it receives reasonable explanations for pandemic-related delays.

Applicants should review previous letters and emails from IRCC to confirm outstanding documents. IRCC notes that only foreign nationals who are exempt from restrictions can travel to Canada at this time.
