Police No Longer Need Reason to Breathalyze Drivers

As of December 18, 2018, Canadian police will no longer need reasonable suspicion to ask drivers to take a breathalyzer test, and those who refuse will face harsher penalties.

Considered unconstitutional by some legal experts, the recent change in Canadian law is an attempt to get more dangerous drivers off the streets.

In British Columbia alone, 68 people on average die each year from collisions related to drunk driving.
