Express Entry Draw #109

Another 3,900 invitations were issued yesterday in the Express Entry draw, with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) cutoff score of 443.

The cutoff score is 6 points lower than the previous January 10 draw, whose cutoff was 449. A tiebreaking rule was applied this round for candidates with a score of exactly 443, inviting those who submitted profiles prior to January 2, 2019, at 3:55 UTC. This marks the second draw of 2019, with more to follow approximately every two weeks.

Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Provincial Nominee Program were eligible this round.

The CRS score is a comprehensive evaluation of a candidate’s profile based on their potential to succeed economically in Canada. Factors such as job offers, education, and language proficiency all contribute to the score.

The Express Entry program is a way for skilled immigrants to apply for permanent residence in Canada. Once an applicant sets up their profile, they will be given a score out of a possible 1,200 based on their likelihood to succeed economically in Canada. Those with high enough scores are granted invitations each draw, enabling them to apply for permanent residence.
