Express Entry Draw #116

Another Express Entry draw was held today, inviting 3,350 new candidates to Canada’s Express Entry program.

The CRS score cutoff for the draw was 450, down one point from the previous draw, and the tie-breaking rule favoured candidates who submitted profiles before November 5, 2018.

This marks the eighth draw of the year; there’s a draw approximately every two weeks. So far in 2019, 24,550 applicants have been invited to the Express Entry program.

Candidates are ranked according to their skill sets, including factors such as language ability, education, and industry training, with a numerical value representing their likelihood of succeeding economically in Canada. This enables skilled newcomers to reduce the amount of time it takes to obtain citizenship status, ensuring that the selection process is as fair as possible.

As of April 26, there were 103,945 candidates in the Express Entry pool.
