IRCC Announces Valid COPR Holders Can Travel to Canada

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that foreign nations with valid Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) can start travelling to Canada as of June 21, 2021.

This is a change from earlier pandemic regulations that only permitted individuals with valid COPRs issued prior to March 18, 2020, to enter Canada unless they met other exemption criteria.

IRCC is reminding individuals whose COPRs were issued after March 18, 2020, but that have since expired, not to book travel to Canada. Information will be available shortly about how to secure a new COPR. Travelers with valid COPRs are reminded that they must adhere to all COVID-19 regulations once they arrive.
