IRCC Issues Parents and Grandparents Program Invitations

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has begun issuing invitations to apply to potential parents and grandparents’ sponsors who indicated their interest last fall.

IRCC plans to accept a record number of Parents and Grandparents (PGP) Program applications as part of its plan. Up to 30,000 applications will be accepted.

Those who receive invitations have 60 days to apply using the Permanent Residence Portal. A paper application can be requested by emailing IRCC by October 21, 2021. Applicants who have lost their confirmation number or changed emails can use the Lost My Confirmation Number tool, which will launch shortly.

IRCC encourages those who did not receive an invitation to apply for a super visa. Parents and grandparents can visit Canada for up to 2 years at a time and can be used for multiple entries.
