Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a program delivery update for the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).

The update modified RNIP instructions regarding work permit issuing. The update instructs program officers to make visible remarks regarding the duration of work permits. Permits must be issued until an individual’s passport expiration date or for one full year from when they enter Canada, choosing at all times the shorter duration.

This instruction is in effect as of August 16, 2021.
