According to an annual report by CBRE, Toronto is one of the top three cities in North America for tech talent, following San Francisco and Seattle.
The last five years saw exceptional growth for the city’s tech market, with over 80,000 new jobs added, which CBRE attributes to Canada’s welcoming immigration policies, investment in start-ups, and robust venture capital market.
Cities were evaluated on talent supply, market growth prospects, and office and apartment inflation. While Toronto earned a spot at the top, Waterloo and Hamilton are not far behind, with growth in the tech market reported at 40% and 52% respectively.
