50000-liter water tank in Canada for on-site water storage
By: jajtyn zewerty on Aug 14, 2026 01:26 AM EST
When a property is located far from the city, having a good water supply becomes quite practical. On a farm, it can be useful for household needs, irrigation, livestock, or simply as a backup in case of supply disruptions. A 50000-liter capacity allows you to store a sufficiently large supply and avoid relying on a single water source. For Canadian properties near forests, this can also be important during fire season, when access to water can sometimes become more difficult. I hadn't considered tanks this large for a private property before. I wonder how much space is roughly needed for a tank of that size?

And can you keep that much water on the property during the winter? I'm especially curious about how this is handled in regions of Canada where there are severe frosts.
