Almost bought a 428i until I got it inspected, sharing my story

Last month I found a 2015 428i that looked perfect, low mileage, clean interior, seller had receipts. I was ready to pay him but something told me to get it checked first. I found a place that does a Genuine BMW pre purchase inspection in Musaffah Shabiya and booked it. The report came back showing a leaking oil pan gasket, worn brake pads, and a coolant leak starting. The seller acted surprised but I walked away. I lost a small deposit but saved myself from a money pit. I know inspections cost extra but honestly it was the best decision I made. Has anyone else had a similar close call? What did you end up buying instead?
