Building private blog networks in 2026?
By: Clarissa on Jun 15, 2026 03:03 PM EST
I've been listening to the grumpy SEO guy from the start. I heard Google made some changes in 2026. Is it still worthwhile to build a portfolio of high-domain-authority sites to build backlinks?

The very logic of creating a network of high-domain-authority sites for the sake of links no longer seems like a safe strategy. Google has long and consistently been moving toward evaluating not only domain strength but also context, the naturalness of links, and the connections between sites. Therefore, even if a domain appears strong, it doesn't guarantee the value of a link if the network appears artificial or manipulated.
