Card Balance Before Grocery Trip

Before going grocery shopping, I checked my Direct Express card balance and saw a transaction I wanted to understand before using the card again. I’m trying to keep the question practical, not dramatic, because it may just be a pending charge or timing issue. Would customer service need the merchant and date first, or should I explain that I’m trying to confirm the available balance before making another purchase?
