Developers are stuck in maintenance mode
By: Ben Bubalex on Jun 30, 2026 06:19 AM EST
Our internal team spends 90% of time fixing and maintaining, barely any room for new development. It’s frustrating because we have a clear roadmap. Need software development services to take over part of the load so we can actually grow.

We hit that wall last year — roadmap looked great on paper, but devs were stuck patching bugs and babysitting legacy stuff. Nothing new shipped for months. We ended up offloading part of the maintenance to an external team, which freed our core devs to actually build again. This article made me think differently about scaling efforts too: B2B channel strategies sometimes growth just needs breathing room.
