Is travel PT worth it?

Hi! I'm a physical therapist and I've been thinking about trying travel work instead of staying in one permanent position. The flexibility and chance to work in different locations sound great, but I'm curious about the reality of moving between assignments, licensing, pay, and finding consistent work. Has anyone here made the switch?

Travel PT can be a good option if you're comfortable with change and don't mind relocating for assignments. I'd look beyond the pay and compare contract length, housing, benefits, licensing requirements, and the support you get during the process.

They also have information about housing options, benefits, credentialing, and recruiter support. I'd compare a few assignments before deciding whether the lifestyle works for you.

I think the biggest question is how much you value stability. Working in different facilities can be great for building experience, but regularly moving and adapting to new teams isn't for everyone.
I'd probably try one travel contract first rather than treating it as a permanent career change.
