Lightweight yacht tender (under 140kg) with steering console?
By: Gares on Jul 08, 2026 06:32 AM EST
Hey guys, looking for some advice. I’m searching for a new rigid inflatable tender to mount on our swim platform, but I have strict weight capacity limits on the davits. I really want a proper steering console setup rather than a tiller, but most premium options I find online are way too heavy for solo launching. Does anyone know a solid, lightweight V-hull tender that stays under 130-140kg bare weight but still feels sturdy in choppy lake water?

I'm in a similar situation. My davits have a pretty limited weight capacity too, so I've had to rule out a lot of the nicer console tenders because they're just too heavy. I'm also trying to find something with a proper steering console instead of a tiller, but still light enough to launch on my own. Hopefully someone here has found a model that balances low weight with good stability in choppy water, because I'd love some recommendations as well.

Boating out here in Canada often means dealing with sudden weather changes, so I really need a rugged, seaworthy and highly reliable tender for our main cruiser this year. Just stumbled upon https://grandboats.com/en/golden-line/6-golden-line-g340.html and I’m honestly quite impressed by the premium build quality. At under 130kg, launching it solo off the swimming platform should be an absolute breeze while keeping a very sleek, high-end look at the dock.
