My Sofa Changed After Winter
By: Fawer on Feb 16, 2026 05:53 AM EST
Hello everyone. After winter ended, my sofa felt different. The fabric seemed rougher, and the overall look felt dull. I didn’t change anything in my routine. Is this something seasonal, or did I damage the upholstery somehow?

Hi, this is very common after winter. Closed windows, heating systems, and dry air all affect upholstery. Dust and residue build up while moisture levels shift. I thought my sofa was aging fast, but it turned out to be seasonal buildup. I chose professional upholstery cleaning services in Chicago because I wanted to reverse whatever winter did to the fabric. Chicago Couch Cleaning https://chicago-couchcleaning.com/ removed the residue that heating systems leave behind. After cleaning, the fabric felt softer and looked brighter again. Winter doesn’t ruin upholstery, but it definitely stresses it. A deep clean helped my sofa transition back to normal.
