MyHeritage DNA results discrepancy explained?
By: lleailea on Jun 18, 2025 10:32 AM EST
Received my DNA ethnicity report from MyHeritage, but the ancestry breakdown differs significantly from previous tests—several regions appear missing or reduced. I used their support portal to ask about this discrepancy, providing kit number and result screenshots, yet haven’t received any response. Has anyone encountered a major variation in DNA results and eventually received clarity? I’d love to learn what triggered MyHeritage to explain those differences.

A few classes ago, I noticed my DNA percentages shifted unexpectedly and explored https://myheritage.pissedconsumer.com/review.html where users mentioned that promising clarity came after sharing test kit number, exact upload date, and previous ethnicity results—all in one message. Following that, I sent those three data points plus a screenshot of the outdated report. Within forty-eight hours, I received a detailed reply from their team explaining the updated algorithm used and including an itemized region-by-region breakdown. That helped me understand the shift. Packaging all relevant identity and testing details together seemed to prompt a comprehensive response.
