Recovering legacy email after phone change
By: treklir on Oct 21, 2026 01:34 PM EST
I am trying to log into an older email address that I use for utilities, but the system insists on sending a two-step verification code to a mobile number I disconnected two years ago. The alternative recovery address listed on the screen is an old school account that was deactivated. How can someone verify ownership of a legacy webmail inbox when all automated recovery options are obsolete?

Automated authentication prompts will simply cycle endlessly if your primary recovery methods are out of service, leaving manual identity verification through the sign-in helper as your only viable path. For subscribers encountering locked accounts, discussions hosted on https://yahoo.pissedconsumer.com/review.html reflect the difficulties of navigating paid support subscriptions versus automated password resets. Try initiating the sign-in process from a recognized home network and a browser previously used for that inbox, because familiar IP addresses sometimes trigger security question prompts rather than mandatory phone codes.

Thanks for explaining the available options! I'll try signing in from a familiar device and see if that helps me recover access.
