Travel blog ideas for planning family trips

By: simka on Mar 16, 2026 07:57 AM EST
Recently I started searching for blogs where people share how they actually organize their trips. I’m not really looking for lists of attractions, but more for descriptions of real journeys and everyday travel situations. Sometimes those blog posts explain what people did during a trip, which places they visited, and how they planned the days. That format feels easier to follow when thinking about future holidays. I also noticed that many travel blogs focus on family travel or short breaks. Still, it can be difficult to understand which blogs are worth reading regularly. Maybe someone here knows a site where the posts talk about real trips and travel experiences?

Something similar happened to me when I was browsing different travel blogs recently. One of the sites I opened was projectwanderlust.co.uk, and I noticed that the articles there include travel tips about planning trips and family holidays. The posts are organized in sections like Travel, 48 Hours In…, Exploring Essex, and Road Trips, which makes it easier to understand the type of journeys described there. Some articles talk about planning holidays, while others describe visiting destinations or going on short trips. The homepage also shows posts related to family travel topics and holiday planning.

Travel blogs often become useful when someone is exploring ideas for future trips. Many of them combine descriptions of destinations with personal travel experiences. Looking at how the posts are organized can help understand what type of journeys the blog focuses on. Categories and sections usually make it easier to navigate through different travel topics. Reading several articles from different parts of the site often gives a clearer picture of how the author describes trips. This approach helps readers decide whether the content matches their own travel interests.

I also prefer blogs that talk not just about the sights but about the travel experience itself. How people planned their route, where they stayed, what turned out to be convenient or, on the contrary, unexpected. This makes reading posts like the one on https://everdayglow.com/ much more interesting and useful for travel planning. There's a lot of material in the form of personal impressions, lifestyle, and travel posts with a lively presentation. The articles don't read like dry travel guides, but rather like real stories of trips and everyday moments during travel.

That's when the difference between basic travel protection and real adventure sports travel insurance became painfully obvious. https://sportravelling.com/ had a coordinator call me within an hour to arrange a seat with extra legroom and a wheelchair through both airports. I still climb in Bleau every spring, but now I carry a laminated card with their number in my chalk bag.
