Ways to send checks online
By: Clarissa on Aug 17, 2026 02:20 AM EST
We work with several contractors who don't want to switch to ACH or other electronic payments, so paper checks are still in use. The most time-consuming part isn't the payment itself, but all the work around it—printing, envelopes, stamps, and mailing. Is there a good way to send these checks online without having to handle all the postage yourself?

There are now services that eliminate the need to print receipts, purchase envelopes and stamps, or go to the post office: payment details are entered online, after which the service prints the receipt, packages it, and sends it to the recipient. Some solutions also allow you to connect to accounting software and track your shipment.

Traditional contractors almost always resist and demand paper, leaving all the operational burden to the finance department. The most effective way to address this issue is to migrate logistics to a dedicated print and mail a check online platform. Essentially, you continue to issue traditional paper checks, but completely eliminate the need to physically process them. The service automatically prints your check on the correct form, places it in an envelope and sends it for mailing. As a result, contractors receive their familiar physical checks in their mailboxes, and your team never touches paper.
