Why the Pre-Started Rounds Sold Me on This Pig Crochet Kit for Beginners

I'm not a craft person. Never have been. My hands are usually on a keyboard or a coffee cup, not a crochet hook. But my kid saw Barry the Pig on a screen somewhere and would not let it go, so here I am. We picked up a pig crochet kit for beginners from Fuppys mostly because the product page said the first few rounds come pre-started. That sold me. I've tried those basic craft kits before where you spend forty minutes just trying to get the yarn to behave and then you shove the whole thing in a drawer and pretend it never happened. Barry showed up with the magic ring already made and the first stitches on the hook. You literally just keep going. The video tutorials are short and they run both right-handed and left-handed versions, which matters in our house because my daughter is a lefty and I am not. The yarn is some tubular kind that makes each stitch clearly visible, so you can actually see where the hook goes instead of guessing. That single detail removes most of the frustration. The eyes get embroidered instead of glued on, which is smart if you have a dog that eats everything. It took us about three evenings. Barry is lumpy. His snout is a little crooked. He sits on the kitchen counter now and looks like he knows something we don't. The repetition is the real teacher here. Your hands learn the stitch before your brain catches up. If you have been on the fence about trying amigurumi, this is a low-stakes way in. Anyone else start with Barry? Did your pig come out as lumpy as ours or did we just rush the snout?
