Path to Residency for TFWs Via Agri-Food Pilot

The liberal budget’s Agri-Food Immigration Pilot, announced in March, is a three-year pilot program that will give Temporary Foreign Workers a new pathway to permanent residency.

The program will focus on year-round work instead of seasonal work, with 2,750 spots for workers and their families to apply each year.

Applications for the program will start next year and can add up to 16,500 new permanent residents.

Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Marie-Claude Bibeau delivered a speech in Leamington, Ontario, about the program, which will focus on meat processing workers, greenhouse workers, and mushroom growers.
