Provincial Nominee Program Draws: July 29—Aug 5

There were two new Provincial Nominee Program draws over the last week, issuing a total of 1,843 invitations to candidates in BC and Alberta.

British Columbia issued 70 new invitations in a tech draw on July 30, with minimum scores across all streams remaining identical to many previous tech draws at 90 points. On August 1 Ontario also had a tech draw but it was a much larger, issuing 1,773 new invitations. Minimum CRS scores dropped by four points from 439 to 435.

The Provincial Nominee Program is a way for provinces to select candidates with the skills they need and fast-track their pathway to permanent residency. Selected specializations are added and removed in program streams to help match the needs of the provincial economy with newcomers who would suit them. High demand for tech skills in both provinces has sparked the introduction of the tech draws in BC and Ontario.
